Taming 2 Wild Beasts

Y'all my eyebrows were OUT of control!
So I had to do what was needed.
Head back to the Benefit Brow Bar at Murale.
(Taylor and I went here for her first brow wax experience).


So I thought I would be brave and share some eyebrow before and afters.

So before...

Seriously y'all can you see the unmaintained ridiculousness I had going on.
Plus my left eye looks really round...look how weird the eyelid looks!


And here is the after.

As soon as I put this pic in this post...I started to panic.
Because in the picture it looks totally uneven.
BUT eyebrows are sisters not twins...AND she did it to suit my way uneven face.
I know I know I'm a tough critic.


Anywho so I tried to take two more pics to show you how they actually do look good.

I swear they don't look as uneven etc as they are appearing currently.
The look normal with a full face picture I SWEAR!!!


Random side note I LOVE the smell in Murale.
It is so fresh and clean.
Unlike Sephora (which I love) but depending on when you go in there the strong perfumy smell is enough to bring on a headache sometimes!


I'm so so excited because I have a hair appointment on Friday too.
Bye bye super long black roots.
I am so looking forward to this weekend because Will is coming up from A2 
(LOVE that nickname by the way and I'm totally going to use it from now on).


And I'm only going to say this because the thought flicked through my brain tonight.
Why am I getting all "prepared" looks wise for this weekend all of a sudden...
Weird...very weird.

Saturday Shopping Trip

So Saturday I met up with Val because we were going to go shopping in New York.
Also know as test #2.
Test #1 was here.
It was intimidating just because we were traveling by car.


My hands were so so so terribly shaky.
But everything went off without a hitch!
And before we knew it I was looking at this glorious sign.

And it was such a beautiful day outside!
I can't believe how much things have been mild this winter.
Totally my saving grace.


So we headed to some outlets.
And we are both on a budget so I only got what I LOVED.
JCrew factory outlet store was where I got my three items.


It is my new trick when I go shopping for myself.
I allow myself three items.
So then I really choose carefully versus taking home a ton of items of which I won't wear but get caught up in the frenzy.


And what a great deal versus their regular priced items.
For example I got this printed Cecilia dress.
Has everything I love.
V-neck, straps that I can wear a nice bra,  POCKETS!!!!, full skirt, and a tie to cinch in the waist.

I was also excited to be back into some better sizes after working out more.
This dress was Regularly $108+tax
With their dress promotion.  It was $64.80!

Now granted I know it is their "factory" line and not the same as in store,
Both Val and I agreed that we preferred these pieces versus the actual store which you know we hit up later also.

My other two items...a sweater set.
In my favourite shade.
Pink of course!  Well technically JCrew calls it Neon Azalea.

I love the buttons!

Jackie Cardigan (Factory) tag regularly $49.50 down to $29.70!
Jackie Shell (Factory) tag regularly $39.50 down to $23.70!
THIS to me was a FANTASTIC deal.

Considering that currently at the Canadian Regular (non-factory store).
The exact same pink Jackie Cardigan is $80 (+13% taxes)
and the exact same pink Jackie Shell is $54 (+13% taxes)


The sweater set alone would have cost me $151.42 here in Canada.
(JCrew is rather expensive in Canada).
And instead I spent a total of $125.52 
(including the 8% taxes in New York) for a dress AND a sweater set.
FABULOUS deal.


On our way home we stopped in at Quinn's house.
She lives about half way between Niagara Falls and Toronto.
She and her husband had grilled up some burgers (home made patties with onion and garlic YUM!) 
and we also had a homemade chickpea salad, homemade coleslaw and steamed broccoli.
It was delicious.


I also got to see Quinn's babies nursery for the first time (so cute).
And we all got caught up and chatted and finished off with some nice hot tea before Val and I headed on the road again back to the TDot.
So SO fun.
AND now I am planning the rest of my trips this year...


The For Sure's

• Florida Easter weekend (SO soon and SO SO excited!)
• Dallas in September 
• Ann Arbor maybe October?  I will be sporting my maize and blue proudly attending another football game weekend with my bestie Will (who I think may be coming next weekend to Canada!!!!)

The Maybe's

• Maybe Auburn for a fall football game (I'm dying to see where my bestie went to school and cheer on a team in the South Division (I realize it is NOT called the South Division it is called something important that has lots of good schools and I for the life of me cannot remember what it is called.  Thank goodness Auburn and UofM are in different divisions haha because I love them both dearly!)
• Maybe Chicago (shopping trip/see my bestie's brother perhaps!)
• Maybe Winnipeg (to see Sophie like I did last year).
• Maybe New York City (I am DYING to do the Sex and the City Tour!)
• Maybe Austin (to see a special close friend).
• And at this point I will also take any other suggestions!!!

All and all this weekend made me very excited for things yet to come.

Much More Music...

This girl won a contest last year for covering this song...Danyka Nadeau

That was in her dorm room in the TDot.
She won last year and here is the new commercial for this year which I'm OBSESSED with!
She is phenomenal in it.

So some Canadian translation for you MuchMusic was our Canadian Music channel.
As in I did NOT grow up with MTV.
Practically tragic right?
I remember going on trips to the USA with my family and being so so so excited to watch MTV.

Once in high school my girlfriend and I were in New York visiting her family and we spent HOURS watching a marathon of RoadRules which we thought was the coolest show ever!
So eventually MTV made it's way to Canada and I think they bought out MuchMusic and now kids can watch Jersey Shore/The Hills/The Real World/Teen Mom and all that jazz to their heart's content.
But sometimes the old MuchMusic slips in there.

Turns out she covered Carly Rae Jepson's song...the one I wrote about here.
With two guys from UofToronto.
This is so good for a dorm room again!

So 2012 Covers Contest has started.
And she has her new EP of original songs coming out.
And I'm digging it.
And this first part of the video is shot right downtown...by my work.
As in I drive past this every single day.
This video is actually clips of 4 songs.

This EP looks good right???
I love music.
Can't wait to see who wins this year.

eDating

So I finally bit the bullet and resigned onto the whole edating thing once again.
In the time I've been gone...827 matches.
Isn't that crazy???

I'm afraid after these there will be none left!
Anywho I mainly scrolled through and clicked close on a lot of "matches".
He was the thoughts going through my head...
nope...has kids
nope....I definitely wear a bigger jean size than him
nope... 5'7" which means he is really 5'3" (ie MrEngineer the underhugger)
nope... he is into camping and the outdoors and dreams of having a country home
nope...not attracted to him
nope...every picture has a cropped out girl beside him as evidence of long hair and slim arm caught in crop
nope...lives in middle of nowhere tiny town
Am I being too picky....nah I don't think so.

Amoungst the most interesting.
One had a single profile pic of him in FULL drag (I'm talking wig/makeup/dress) I sent Taylor a pic as evidence.
He sent me an email message with the subject line "digging your bowling pic" (I have a side view bowling picture with me wearing a fifties style dress)
His message "Very cute. Very.  That is all."

I felt like I at least had to respond to that.
I did with
"Thanks
Bold choice of photo yourself...just saying."
Because sometimes I'm witty like that.

Y'all at least the blogger stories are about to take an interesting turn once again.
Who knows maybe I will even go on a date with MrDragQueen.
Oh boy.

The crazy thing is...
I'm secretly hoping that maybe just maybe...
I could be half of one of those ridiculously smiley couples from the commercials.

Scattered

Y'all I'm feeling totally scattered.
In that weird mixed up way of feeling relief over a big stressful week at work last week and the influx of emotions/stress of the fact of the constant work stress that is all part of it.
The stress that makes me seriously consider going back to school.
But that is mainly because I'm feeling so darn scattered.

Which means it's time for the most random blog post of all time.

I feel like I need to go back to completing MyExboyfriendProject.
But how to do it.
The same way you would eat an elephant...one fork at a time.
So I'm thinking trying to add one "chapter" per week so that I can at least get it done.

I get to decorate "my room" in our families new Florida vacation home.
Here is the room currently...


So so so excited!
I'm thinking something SUPER preppy.
Perhaps Lilly Pulitzer inspired (after all I am on a budget y'all).
Perhaps things involving bows and stripes???
Any suggestions out there???
Here's the bedroom set I've picked out already because it was very "Floridian" to me.
I hope it's more white than in the picture.
And clearly it is super duper reasonable.
I also am hoping to trade out the dresser for a tall 5 drawer dresser because I'm not a huge fan of the attached mirror to the long dresser.


I love to match my shoes to my outfit.
Like here.

And recently I'm super obsessed with wearing cardigans with my dress shirts.
I feel like the way it blocks a line in the middle makes me look skinnier
I know I know I'm probably being silly but this is the way my weirdo mind works.

And I totally have a KimKardashian butt.
Seriously even in work dress clothes.
Seriously I totally have a shelf...see how my cardigan folds in in the back?!
Ridiculous!

I just looked over at my empty frames Taylor gave me (see here).
I so need to order pictures to put in them.
Maybe this weekend.
I totally suck at having pictures printed.
It also makes me want to organize a photoshoot.
Heck I know tons of people who do engagement photos etc.
So you know what I want to do.
Get hair and makeup done and do a bestie photoshoot.
Get pictures taken by someone who agrees to photoshopping my butt down a size or two haha.
Something I would love to use as a facebook profile pic and someone who is able to capture a bestie friendship very well on film.
How to make this happen???...

I had the WEIRDEST thought today.
Because I'm such an overthinking nerd.
I missed TheBachelor Canada castings/applications.
(Not that I seriously would go in...imagine US weekly breaking the scandle of Spencer etc).
Anywho my crazy thought of the day on why MrDentist perhaps disappeared....
I was thinking maybe he is the new Bachelor!!!!
Just saying and if that is the case ....holy moly and I have a time stamp on my prediction haha.

I mailed out Taylor's surprise today (that I talked about here).
I wanted to add some extras but I thought I could just send them at a later time instead.
Because I was too darn excited.
And I can only hope I didn't over-hype it (huge potential for this!)
We shall see.

I need to get of my butt and sign on to my EH account and get dating.
I'm just obviously for some reason procrastinating.

Will may come to visit this month!
So super excited to see him.
I wrote about him (here) if you don't know who he is.

I need to get a little more strict with my workouts.
Especially with a Florida trip coming up (yipes bathing suit!)
Need to have some renewed focus/energy there.

Could I be any more of a jumbled up rambly bunch of thoughts...
I think not.

Weekend Update

A busy but good weekend.
This week I had a crazy stressful week and was happy to see it fly by.
It has pretty much been non-stop and I wish I had taken more pictures.
Instead I just took a bunch right now to hopefully fill that void.
I need to get better about that because I find myself wishing I had more pics from earlier in the weekend.


On Friday Quinn drove up from the SC (it's like the OC only in southeastern Ontario haha) with her baby.
They were coming for a girl's sleepover.
Val and Eva joined us for drinks and snacks until the wee hours of the morning.


We just hung out listened to music and ate.
We had cheese, veggies, fruit (and of course wine!)
I wish I had taken pictures because I used my serving dishes.


Saturday morning Quinn and I brewed some yummy coffee.
And I made the same breakfast I made for Taylor when she came here in January.
(Read here if you missed it).


We hung out until midday when they left.
And my parents came into town.
They had made last minute plans to come here.
This was actually supposed to be the weekend I hung out with MissDentist (MrDentist's BFF) but she rescheduled for the 17th (well I she says she is rescheduling and I'm trying NOT to be paranoid that she just doesn't want to be my friend which I think would be just as bothersome as MrDentist disappearing...because I have this issue of wanting everyone to like me...AND the issue of making more cool girl friends ...I totally need to work on this in all aspects).


Anywho my parents came to Toronto with my dog.
We just had a low key night of pizza and a movie.
We rented Drive.
And y'all I didn't like it (and I love me some Ryan Gosling!)


It was one of those movies that I wasn't expecting to be like that.
I was expecting like The Italian Job or The Transporter kind of movie.
But it was SUPER graphic and violent.  
Think more like Kill Bill or a Quentin Territino (I cannot spell) flick.
And the trailer to me did not seem like this.
Here it is.

So we actually were all ready to go to sleep at 10.
So we did.
I air mattress-ed it up so my parents could have my room.
Haha the joys of a one bedroom apartment!


This morning we got up and had breakfast and headed out shopping 
(really what else are my parents and I going to do?)
I got these beauties from my FAVOURITE store Restoration Hardware.

I got this chair last week.
Awesome right?
I got it from my least favourite store...Wal-Mart.
But it does the job and at $148 for a slipper chair well worth it!

The pillow fits PERFECTLY I was so excited when I realized this...after I already bought it haha.

This little guy has been kicking it around on my desk I also got him last week.
I think the folks at YoungHouseLove got me on the craze of white ceramic animals.
Owls are near and dear to my heart though.

I want to share with you some amazing things from Taylor that she brought for me when she came to visit.
Seriously she is that amazing that she also brought a gift when her coming was a gift in itself.
Gorgeous right?
Now I just need not to procrastinate and get photos of us in them.
Tay I did attempt to umm mend the beautiful candleholder...
however everyone says they love my candlesticks (which works out great!)

My parent's have just returned from Portugal (for my grandfather's anniversary mass).
And they brought back this from his house.
My grandfather was in the military in Rhodesia.
It obviously is very special for me to have this.
I miss my grandfather very much.

Of course my parents don't leave here without fully stocking my fridge and bar.
i.e.

Seriously I am so spoiled!
I'm such a lucky girl.
My parents also got me this jewelry armoire from Bombay.
Which apparently was a brand managed out of Fort Worth Texas before closing all US chains.
It is still pretty popular and big here up in Canada though.
They had a sale today so instead of it being $676.87 it was on sale for total of $399. 

It actually reads a lot darker then this pic which is good for my other dark furniture.

It won't be in for 2 weeks but I will show you it when I'm done.
My parents did NOT like my current jewelry organization.

Then we stopped by Joe Fresh which is one of my FAV stores also.
And I got some of these basics.
This I can't wait to wear when I go to my parent's new home in Florida.

Did you catch that?
Yes my parents just bought a home in Florida.
Where Spencer lives...I get it Florida is a big state but umm its a little close for my panicky self...thoughts of running into him on the beach me feeling chunky him with his new fab girlfriend/fiancee/wife....ughhhhh!


My parents invited me there for Easter weekend.
And they actually invited Taylor to join us too.
Anyways let me move on before I start to panic about the whole thing.
Ughhhh...out of all the FREAKING states to live in...I need to move on.


I also got some basic Cardigans (I'm obsessed with cardigans I love how they look so preppy).
And at $16 each you really cannot beat that pricing (and JoeFresh is amazing quality!)

And this chambray dress $29.

Which I cannot wait to pair with a skinny belt and to get a pair of cowboy boots when I visit Dallas in a few months!
This dress is perfect to wear when I go to visit Taylor.

And I NEED to get on the ball for things like signing onto that dating account and get going on that again.
