Sock Bun Fun

So this past Sunday I met up with Quinn and Val for brunch.
Well actually it was supposed to me Quinn and I and then Quinn suggested we invite Val.
Which I seriously have NO problem with except...when they get together I don't get an invite.
But I'm trying to just not think about that.

So I wanted to try and do something fun for my hair.
I had been dying to try the sock bun.
So I of course youtubed videos.
I settled on this one not due to the quality but because of the comparison of the way she did it.
So I used a sock and it really didn't take that long.
And the final result...(ignore the random cleavage lol).

Anywho we decided to meet at this cute place called Stoney's Bread Company in Oakville (the half way point between Quinn and I).
Pic from here
Super cute place.
And when you go there you order and then sit down.
Which actually seems to work great with a busy Sunday crowd.

Pic from here
Super darling place.
We luckily grabbed the front corner booth in the warm sunshine.
Pic from here
So we snuggled in with coffees.
And started catching up.

Breakfast was delicious I had the Stoney's omelette.

Quinn was so sweet and had been holding on to my birthday gift since November.
Some nice warm plaid pajamas...so darling.
Pic form here
After that I basically just went home and cleaned up and did laundry etc.
But it was a lovely start to a lazy Sunday.

Weekend Update with Will in Words

Usually I try and make my posts pretty and lovely and nice.
This whirlwind weekend will become a whirlwind post.
Because I just want to get it all down.
So it might be rambly and random but I don't really want to forget it.

I could be silly and say it was emotional because I had my period.
Well I did but it wasn't because of that.
Work sort of had me down this week.
I had taken on an extra bonus project
(killing myself staying up until 1/2am some nights finishing it).
And turns out I'm not getting paid for it.
(I was told originally I would be in a certain way and now they are structuring it differently so I won't).  And it's a whole big ball of wax that I can't get into because work blog post I don't feel comfortable with at this point.

Anywho so Friday I got stuck late at work.
I was supposed to be at a NLL game Friday at 7:30 meet for dinner before hand at 5:30pm.
With Will coming in at about 8:30pm.
MY NLL ticket was $35 we got these a few weeks ago.
Well when I found out the timing of Will getting into town I realized the game would like go until 9:30/10 so I got him a ticket (which at the non-group rate in our row was $77!)

So I got stuck at work.
Until 8:30pm.
Will arrived at 8:00pm downtown.
My phone died at 7:18pm.
I don't work close to downtown on Fridays.
F*CK.

I was so terribly upset (mostly due to work) and now I was late and Will was wandering downtown and I had (once I plugged my phone into my car to charge) like 8 messages from the CanadaCrew about where the heck was I and my friend?
So I RUSHED downtown without makeup/jewelry/feeling any kind of okay.
By the time I met up with Will it was 9:40.
I had been so stressed my stomach was in knots.

So we missed the game (and I spent $100+ on unused tickets...so annoying!)
We settled for a drink at Ki downtown.
Quickly caught up about work/life/love etc.

I was worried because I hadn't seen Will since the night before I moved to Singapore when he joined my family and I for dinner.
We catch up every few weeks/months but we quickly fell back into our regular banter and relaxed
nature.

We had dinner reservations for 10:30pm at One in Yorkville.
We had a wonderful dinner.
Then we headed out to meet his two friends at The Drake.
Which was so much fun and playing SO much great music we were having a blast and danced the night away until close around 2am.

We then headed to my place.
And all stayed up drinking and chatting.
His two friends were staying in a guest suite in my condo (like a hotel room on the ground floor).
They went to bed at about 3:30am.
Will and I stayed up catching up and watching the first episode of season two of the Walking Dead that he got me hooked on.
So we were side by side on the couch and there was this 2 second little bit of awkwardness of me being jumpy and his hand settling on my knee and me being all butterflies/yet panicky like is his hand on my knee for an extended period?!  And is this weird because we had just talked about his gf who I'm not sure I really care for (because of how she treats him) but as quickly as these thoughts flashed through my head they disappeared and we were all the norm of our hang outs (I'm such an over analyzer sometimes!)
We finally forced ourselves to bed at 6am (I can't remember the last time I was up that late!)
And he slept on the couch in case you were wondering.

We woke up at 11am.
I cooked breakfast for the boys before we headed downtown.
Our plans were to go to the SteamWhistle Brewery in Toronto.
Val was set to meet up with us.
As was Jane and her husband and Eva and her husband.
Well on our way downtown we were told due to St.Patrick's Day there is no way we would get into SteamWhistle by Jane and Eva.
So we waited on a suggestion.
Val suggested another pub called Madison Avenue Pub.
So we headed over there at about 3:30pm.

There was some kind of confusion though.

I had tried to call Jane around 1pm when we were heading out and didn't get through to her.
When I got through to her at 3pm she was driving from downtown to where Eva lives
(about 45-60minutes from downtown).
I thought weird why would she do that.
Then I figured well to cut out the driving and I figured they were staying over night there.

So the boys and I settled into a booth at the Madison.
We grabbed a bite to eat and watch it steadily fill in with a TON of people
(being St. Patty's and all).
So we wait and Val arrived at about 5:30pm.
She quickly comes over and we sort of commiserate on the weird change of plans and messages from everyone.
I had suggested SteamWhistle the other girls shot it down...then they seemed super irritated at us when we didn't have an alternative plan and then when we did have one they were being all weird like they didn't really want to come.
They made text comments about maybe going to grab real food (vs pub food) etc.
AND the more I'm thinking about it the more my blood is boiling!

At 4:27pm they were asking if we have a table to eat dinner at.
We did.  However there was 4 of us at that point (to be 5 when Val arrived).
And we were in one of the BUSIEST pubs in Toronto on St.Patty's day so saving all the space was darn near impossible.
At 5:05pm they said "we are getting ready but it will take us awhile to get there".
And that's it.
Which drove us crazy because we were sort of trapped in place (saving the booth) when we wanted to roam around the HUGE place.
It is a cool place built between two big old homes so it is really interesting and fun to wander.
So instead we thought we better stay in the booth so they would have a place to sit if they wanted to eat.

Anywho they showed up at like 6:30/7pm and at that point we had to give up some space (but we had enough for all four of them to sit and eat and we would stand/roam the place)  because it was pretty much standing room only and SUPER busy at that point.
When they walked in the pub.
Val and I immediately stood up and walked over TO THEM and I hugged each of them made some small chitchat (I alluded to the fact that my friends were at the booth (oh about 3 yards to the left) and then they headed directly to the bar.
Ummm YES that is what happened.
At first not a single one of them came over to say hi to my friends.
Let me clarify and just mention Jane knows Will from when she visited me in Dallas.
And part of the reason we tried to all get together was because Will and his friends were visiting.

I was so EMBARRASED and HUMILIATED as Will and his friends asked so are those the friends we've been sitting in this booth in for four hours waiting for???
Yup.
So they proceed to find a place around the back corner of the bar.
Actually I spotted the brief empty bar stools and suggested we grab them for them.
So they sat about 5 yards away from our little booth.
It was horrible.
Will and his friends were shocked at how it was going down.
Not.even.the.f*cking.courtesy.to.come.say.hi.
Then I started coming up with excuses (maybe they wanted to find a place fast, maybe they thought you should come say hi first, maybe they are mad at me because of the decreased seating, maybe maybe maybe).

So an hour goes by.
And can I mention how awkward it is???
Val at this point is sitting with them now.
And I was near tears at this point.
And we can see each other because we are less than 5 yards AWAY in direct line of view of each other!!!

So then Jane comes over to introduce herself to the guys.
And spends about 20 minutes chatting with them (thank goodness).
Then eventually her husband does too.
When he did I took some time to head over the Eva and her husband and Val.
Eva's husband asked me to ask Jane to come back to "their" area.
I sh*t you not.
He also tried to undo my bra.
Yup.
Right in front of his wife Eva.
And it's like this type of behaviour is okay.
I swatted him away.
But I was seriously annoyed...I find that so so disrespectful.
Seriously this is how the night was going down!!!! WTF!!!
So I headed back over to the boys with another round.
Jane and her husband headed back to "their" area.

So now we are trying to come up with a plan whether to leave or stay.
The boys wanted to leave but I didn't want to make anyone mad because after all they just got there about an hour and a half before!
So we debated about leaving what our plan should be etc.
I headed over to my "their" area to sort of feel out what everyone wanted to do.
Val had just ordered some food so they suggested we wait until she is done her food and we could all head out together...awesome hopefully everything would start to go more smoothly is what I was thinking.
So I get another round for us and we wait.
So probably another hour or so later.

Eva comes over for the first time to us.
She says something along the lines of "hey everyone has started to make their rounds by so I guess it's my turn".
Will's friend couldn't hold it in any longer.
He retorted something along the lines of "oh HEY.  How long have you been here?  And NOW you come over? Weird."  And Eva stammered something out.
And I tried to make like it was just a joke.
But it was awkward.
And I was just trying to dig for something/anything to be able to change the direction of conversation.
So I tried to say "hey so Eva is my first roommate from college" then she corrected me how I was her second which is the case but at this point it was so incredibly awkward and uncomfortable it was AWFUL.

Then it got worse.

So I said..."hey so did we decide on brunch tomorrow".

Side note
(Let me back this up and say a few emails exchanged
earlier in the week had gone out...
with me suggesting a cool place no one had ever been to
...then Eva suggesting another place
that was further away (from Quinn and us)
and when I didn't hear anything back by Wednesday
I sent ANOTHER email saying with our big party
I would really love to make reservations...
to ZERO response from ANYONE).
Quinn and her husband were set
 to join us all (
so to recap it would be Quinn, Quinn's husband,
Quinn's baby, Jane and her husband,
Eva and her husband, and me and the 3 boys...
Val had other plans already).

To which Eva said, 'yes actually we decided to do something in our area' (WE as in NOT myself and my friends) because 'Quinn wanted to see Jane and her husband since they haven't really since Christmas (ummm we did in January in Kingston) and we wanted to spend time with the baby'.

I was dumbfounded.
And this all was said in front of Will and his 2 friends.
Who all had puzzled looks on their faces as they knew that we were supposed to be doing brunch all together the next day.

The night continued to unravel.
As we made plans to change locations.
Eva told me they were going to go home because "they're old".
So Val was planning on hanging out with us.
And FYI at this point Eva's husband STILL did not come over to say hello to my friends.

So as we were gathering our things to leave they instead decided to go have coffee in Yorkville and NOT to go home.
We only realized this as we were outside saying our goodbyes.
They didn't invite us, and didn't even mention it to us at all
(though I overheard the whispers on our way out of the pub).
And so then Val had to make a decision.
She went with them to Yorkville.

The crazy thing is me and the guys would have been so down for getting some food and coffee in Yorkville we just wanted a change in scenery.

So I was so upset.
Me and the boys headed towards other bars.
We made a quick Dim Sum (not sure how you spell that) stop in Chinatown.
And refueled with food.
We had some great laughs and they were trying hard to cheer me up.
Then we headed out to another pub for some more St.Patty's day drinks.

This morning we woke up and had a FABULOUS brunch at Brassaii in King West area.
It was awesome.
And with that our weekend was over.
It was so great to see Will I've really missed him.
It was hard to say goodbye.

Then my parents came over again and I hung up some pictures and rearranged my bedroom and I feel almost 100% settled in my place.
I will have to update with photos etc but I just wanted to get it all out.
I'm officially EXHAUSTED and feel just wiped emotionally right now.

I just got a text from Quinn who said "I didn't realize we wouldn't see you at breakfast...how was your weekend with Will?"  Hmmm do I respond with "well I wasn't invited"....probably NOT a good idea if I want to avoid drama (And I do want to avoid drama).

I also just got a call from Val she called to apologize for last night and her ditching us.
We had a good conversation.
Without her saying it I don't think I fit in this group anymore.
Now "my large strong group of girlfriends" needs to be taken off the list for reasons to stay in Toronto.
Which is so incredibly sad and heartbreaking.
And combined with the sadness of a weekend trip with a long time missed friend being over...not going to lie...is kind of sucky.

Bet you didn't expect all of that drama in a weekend update!

Weekend Update

A busy but good weekend.
This week I had a crazy stressful week and was happy to see it fly by.
It has pretty much been non-stop and I wish I had taken more pictures.
Instead I just took a bunch right now to hopefully fill that void.
I need to get better about that because I find myself wishing I had more pics from earlier in the weekend.

On Friday Quinn drove up from the SC (it's like the OC only in southeastern Ontario haha) with her baby.
They were coming for a girl's sleepover.
Val and Eva joined us for drinks and snacks until the wee hours of the morning.

We just hung out listened to music and ate.
We had cheese, veggies, fruit (and of course wine!)
I wish I had taken pictures because I used my serving dishes.

Saturday morning Quinn and I brewed some yummy coffee.
And I made the same breakfast I made for Taylor when she came here in January.
(Read here if you missed it).

We hung out until midday when they left.
And my parents came into town.
They had made last minute plans to come here.
This was actually supposed to be the weekend I hung out with MissDentist (MrDentist's BFF) but she rescheduled for the 17th (well I she says she is rescheduling and I'm trying NOT to be paranoid that she just doesn't want to be my friend which I think would be just as bothersome as MrDentist disappearing...because I have this issue of wanting everyone to like me...AND the issue of making more cool girl friends ...I totally need to work on this in all aspects).

Anywho my parents came to Toronto with my dog.
We just had a low key night of pizza and a movie.
We rented Drive.
And y'all I didn't like it (and I love me some Ryan Gosling!)

It was one of those movies that I wasn't expecting to be like that.
I was expecting like The Italian Job or The Transporter kind of movie.
But it was SUPER graphic and violent.
Think more like Kill Bill or a Quentin Territino (I cannot spell) flick.
And the trailer to me did not seem like this.
Here it is.

So we actually were all ready to go to sleep at 10.
So we did.
I air mattress-ed it up so my parents could have my room.
Haha the joys of a one bedroom apartment!

This morning we got up and had breakfast and headed out shopping
(really what else are my parents and I going to do?)
I got these beauties from my FAVOURITE store Restoration Hardware.

I got this chair last week.
Awesome right?
I got it from my least favourite store...Wal-Mart.
But it does the job and at $148 for a slipper chair well worth it!

The pillow fits PERFECTLY I was so excited when I realized this...after I already bought it haha.

This little guy has been kicking it around on my desk I also got him last week.
I think the folks at YoungHouseLove got me on the craze of white ceramic animals.
Owls are near and dear to my heart though.

I want to share with you some amazing things from Taylor that she brought for me when she came to visit.
Seriously she is that amazing that she also brought a gift when her coming was a gift in itself.
Gorgeous right?
Now I just need not to procrastinate and get photos of us in them.
Tay I did attempt to umm mend the beautiful candleholder...
however everyone says they love my candlesticks (which works out great!)

My parent's have just returned from Portugal (for my grandfather's anniversary mass).
And they brought back this from his house.
My grandfather was in the military in Rhodesia.
It obviously is very special for me to have this.
I miss my grandfather very much.

Of course my parents don't leave here without fully stocking my fridge and bar.
i.e.

Seriously I am so spoiled!
I'm such a lucky girl.
My parents also got me this jewelry armoire from Bombay.
Which apparently was a brand managed out of Fort Worth Texas before closing all US chains.
It is still pretty popular and big here up in Canada though.

They had a sale today so instead of it being $676.87 it was on sale for total of $399.
It actually reads a lot darker then this pic which is good for my other dark furniture.

It won't be in for 2 weeks but I will show you it when I'm done.
My parents did NOT like my current jewelry organization.

Then we stopped by Joe Fresh which is one of my FAV stores also.
And I got some of these basics.
This I can't wait to wear when I go to my parent's new home in Florida.

Did you catch that?
Yes my parents just bought a home in Florida.
Where Spencer lives...I get it Florida is a big state but umm its a little close for my panicky self...thoughts of running into him on the beach me feeling chunky him with his new fab girlfriend/fiancee/wife....ughhhhh!

My parents invited me there for Easter weekend.
And they actually invited Taylor to join us too.
Anyways let me move on before I start to panic about the whole thing.
Ughhhh...out of all the FREAKING states to live in...I need to move on.

I also got some basic Cardigans (I'm obsessed with cardigans I love how they look so preppy).
And at $16 each you really cannot beat that pricing (and JoeFresh is amazing quality!)

And this chambray dress $29.

Which I cannot wait to pair with a skinny belt and to get a pair of cowboy boots when I visit Dallas in a few months!
This dress is perfect to wear when I go to visit Taylor.

So did y'all have a great weekend?
Now I'm just getting all set for the work week to begin.
And I NEED to get on the ball for things like signing onto that dating account and get going on that again.
Because I know y'all are dying for more Mr_____ stories ...am I right?!
And in case you're wondering ...no I haven't heard a peep from MrDentist...but I'm trying not to think about that anymore.

Weekend Update #2 (of 2011)

So I had a good weekend here's the rundown.

Friday
Got home from work and my dog hadn't been sick so I thought I was in the clear.
Successfully took down all the holiday decor and Christmas tree.
I do have one special ornament that you can put a piece of paper in so I wrote down some wishes for next year so when I decorate my tree again I can see if they come true!
I spun!
I took down the Christmas tree while watching two movies.

Easy A- which was AWESOME!  It was so good and funny and interesting.  Totally has made me a fan of Emma Stone.  I've always enjoyed Amanda Bynes movies (I'm a perpetual teenager) so she had a fun role too. Here's the New York Times Review of it.  It had 80s movie references (LOVE!) and had the feeling of how 80s movies used to be think Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, Say Anything etc.

Check out the trailer!
Twelve- worst movie I have seen in a long long time.  There was a narrator that was super duper annoying throughout.  I thought it would be similar to Gossip Girl (which I love!) since it has Chace Crawford and Emma Roberts and follows some rich kids in New York but it was terrible! Random cut-aways of contents of one of the characters pockets (yes I'm serious!).  And a drug hallucination scene where a girls teddy bears talk to her.  I thought it was not good.  Here's the New York Times review of Twelve. Waste of time...oh well.

Don't be fooled...this trailer makes it look way better than what it was.  The narrator at the beginning of the trailer is in the WHOLE darn movie!

Saturday
I got up and spun again (yippee me!)
Then I got ready and headed to Quinn's house for her 30th Birthday celebrations.
On my way I dropped off my dog at my parents place because they have been complaining that they haven't seen him in awhile and wouldn't mind looking after him.  He is basically the grandchild my parents never had and they looked after him while I was living away in Asia.
Who was there: Quinn, Quinn's husband, Jane, Jane's husband, Eva, Eva's Fiance, Val, and Quinn's friend Collette
We had been planning on curling (I know how Canadian of us) but we couldn't get any good ice times (seriously who knew curling was so popular?) so we will just save it for another time because we are all pretty excited to try it.
So instead Quinn's husband did a super amazing job planning ...a "Minute to Win It" challenge.
I didn't even know it was a TV show ...which interesting enough is hosted by Guy Fieri (who I love his Food Network shows Diner's,Drive-In's and Dive's.

Anywho basically our "challenge" was 60 second games that he got off the Minute to Win It website.
Can you tell as group we are a little competitive, and we aren't exactly a group that sits around and watches TV haha.
I will do my best to describe them all were played in a living room and Quinn's husband spent around $18 on all the games but we only got through half of them (due to much laughter and fun) before going to our dinner reservations.  If I get pictures from Quinn I will add them in later.  All games had a time limit of...you guessed it one minute.

Game One:  Tapemeasure Luge
Take one tape measure starting at 3 feet and take a ping pong ball and let it "luge" down the tape measure and try and get it on a cup (think Solo plastic cup) sitting on the coffee table.  Only rule is you couldn't touch tape measure to actual cup.  If you got one in then you had to add another "foot" to the luge/tape measure.  I think Jane did the best at 6 feet (which is pretty hard to do with a tape measure).

Game Two:  Apple Stacking
Literally on the coffee table stack apples on top of one another.
The max someone got was 5 apples (this was actually pretty tough!)

Game Three:  Peanut Butter Target
Picture a towel on the floor with a piece of bread with a thick layer of peanut butter.  Then you threw ping pong balls (by bouncing them off the coffee table) to try and land on the piece of peanut butter bread.  This actually worked (someone got 5 ping pong balls to stick!)

Game 4:  Key Fishing.
Quinn's husband made a fishing rod out of 12 inches of dowel, floss and an open paper clip (so it looked like a hook).  6 keys were laying on the coffee table with the round end overhanging the edge.  Using the dowel fishing rod with no hands (ie. in your mouth) try to "catch" the keys by hooking them.

Game 5: Tongue Depressor Dice
This challenge involved using a tongue depressor (the wood large popsicle stick doctors use when they tell you to say "ah".  Tongue Depressor is held in your mouth and then you stack dice one on top of the other on the tongue depressor.  Six was the max amount of dice.

Game 6: Final time breaker challenge
Two tables about 3 metres apart with a beer bottle on each table.
Player had a piece of string tied in a circle that they had to use to transfer an egg (hardboiled for safe use on a carpeted living room) from one area to the other.

The champion was Eva! Followed in second place by Jane's husband...I totally came in last as I usually do in these super competitive games because I'm too busy giggling and having fun.

Then we went to dinner at this super cool place called Vicar's Vice.  It is 150 year old stone church that is now a restaurant and pub.  There was pretty good live music and we just had a great time eating and drinking and chatting up a storm.

This is where we sat on the balcony section (which at one time I like to imagined housed a choir and church organ.)  It gave us the perfect view of the band which played on the second story directly opposite of us over the bar.
Side note:  I hate it when someone orders the
"what I should have ordered" meal
when I'm left going "darn it I should have ordered that!"
I should have known in a pub to order fish and chips...
but was lucky enough to steal a bite from Jane's husband's plate!

Then we headed back to Quinn's place where we all hung out and had a couple of drinks before all crashing.

Sunday
We woke up in the morning to a great breakfast before everyone started to head home around noon.  I made the drive home.  Then cleaned up the house (for Taylor's impending visit YIPPEE!!!) and spun (again I'm keeping my 2011 Goals so far!)

Then I got a phone call from my mom...(they were dog sitting my dog but since they had complained about missing him so much I didn't rush to pick him up).  I barely got out "hi mom" before she lay into me...awesome.  Here's how it went down.  Remember my dog had been sick with vomitting/diarrhea that cleared up later in the week?  Turns out he had a relapse...turns out that relapse happened in the 1 hour he was alone at my parents house when I dropped him off on Saturday.  However this is the typical conversation with my parents (which is why I sometimes cringe when I look at my phone and see that it is them calling).
Me: "Hi mom"
Mom: "your dog is sick" (I guess we usually skip the usual pleasantries of hello etc.)
Me: "darnnit I thought he was feeling better"
Mom: "well he isn't. He vomitted all over my house and sh*t all over my carpets.  I don't know why you wouldn't think to lock him up if he was sick"
Me: "mom I didn't drop off a dog at your house thinking that he was still sick"
Mom:  "well I'm not sure if you were thinking at all...and now this bloody dog (not really bloody but my parents use these kinds of expressions...I think it's a British expression) is sick and he looks like he has lost way too much weight!  Has he even been eating?  It looks like he isn't eating!  And his eyes look funny...this dog is very very sick."
Me: "mom I told you last week he was sick earlier in the week but then was playing and eating fine and not sick during the end of the week so I didn't realize he was sick when I dropped him off"
Mom: "well I don't know how you didn't have a clue he was sick because clearly he is very sick so I should take him to the vet tomorrow."
Me:  "I can take him to the vet it's okay"
Mom: "well I have the day off and its better if I take him because I know what happened"
Me:  "is he still eating and drinking?"
Mom: "yes but not enough...maybe I should make him rice"
Me: "did he eat any human food this weekend?"
Mom: "no...I didn't make him sick he was sick when you dropped him off...and rice stops diarrhea"
Me: "well maybe you should take him to the vet before giving him human food"  (the only thing I know of that is a natural anti-diarrhea food is bananas).
Mom:  "well he looks like he is in bad shape"
Me: "do I need to take him to the hospital?"
Mom: "no he isn't that bad"  seriously if he isn't that bad then why are you making it seem like he is
Me: "okay well if you are taking him to the vet tomorrow I'm guessing you want me to leave him there for the night"
Mom: "well yea"
Me: "okay thanks for doing that"
Mom: "bye"
Soooo this is how it goes...imagine if it was an actual grandchild and not a dog?!  I'm so frustrated about these conversations.  Then I sat there debating on if I should just go pick up my dog anyway.

Then I called this morning to see how he was doing...
Me: "Hi"
Mom: "hi" (wahoo she said hi...but I think I woke her up)
Me:  "how is the dog?"
Mom: "I think he is fine now"
Me: "oh thats good"
Mom: "yea last night after I got off the phone he was playing and running around and drinking lots of water"
Me: "oh okay well I may still take him to the vet because it is twice for a few days that he was sick in the last week or so and I just want to make sure everything is okay" (thinking in my head...especially if you think he drastically lost a lot of weight etc).
Mom: "I will take him then"
Me: "okay thanks"
Mom:  "I will call you and let you know how it goes"
Me: "okay well I can pick him up right after I'm done work today too"
Mom: "okay"
So that conversation was okay...it depends usually when she calls me she has a mission (usually one involving negative yelling) so maybe I should call her more often.
And that was the end of my good weekend (I don't think I cried even once!) and the start of my week that will be incredibly long because Taylor gets here Friday!
I cannot wait.

Brooke's Birthday Weekend

So I'm back.
I made it out there despite my lack of motivation.
It was great to catch up with the girls.  They are amazing and just an incredible support system.
They are all mad at PH and can't believe his actions...well rather inaction.
And at least they back me up 100%.
I really don't know how I would make it through this without my girls.

I made the 2 hour drive to Toronto and then met up with Val and Eva and then we road tripped it up the 3 hours to Kingston.  (And I only managed to cry once during the road trip). We made it just in the nick of time to the restaurant.  It was great a place called Atomica which is a gourmet pizza and wine bar.  Which suited us just perfectly....and we jabbered away and stuffed ourselves...so good!  I wish I had taken pictures of the food!  It was so busy and becuase the ENTIRE restaurant had ordered pizza we basically had 10 minutes to eat our dinner before we had to fly out the door to catch Cirque du Soleil's Quidam.  We got there JUST in time.  So we settled in to watch the show.  I thought it was good though sometimes it is hard to compare it when I saw Cirque du Soleil's "O" in Vegas where it is a permanent theatre with wonderful makeup.  So that part is better but the performers are always outstanding and awe inspiring.

Yummy gormet pizzas!

The bar which is really cool because the lights change colours...but pink was my favourite (of course)!

We then headed to Woodenheads for some cocktails.  Which was lovely and we keep chattering away.  (I managed to tear up but not out and out sob...ughhh I just sometimes when talked about my situation I think the only common denomiator and therefore the only problem is actually me!)

Downtown Kingston but there wasn't this much snow at night because the day was pretty warm.

Then I headed out with Quinn and her husband and we went to her in-laws home...arriving there just after midnight.  They had two friends over so we proceeded to have more drinks and play a game that is basically B*llsh*t with dice.  We had a great time and before we knew it it was 3:30am (which I can't remember the last time I was awake that late!)

One of my new favourite games and it is fun and social and not too complicated!
So we headed to bed and then woke up to the smell of a delish breakfast!  We had eggs and sausage and toast and muffins and cinnimon buns with coffee and OJ (again I wish I had taken pictures...I will get better with that and it would help if I could figure out for my phone to store more than 14 pictures!)  By the time we finally got going it was around 1pm.  Quinn, her husband and I headed to Petsmart to go shopping because they got a new 8 week old labradoodle puppy today!!!  They are so excited it is fantastic!

So before you know it it was 2:30pm and I met up with Val to head back home (5 hours on the road yuck!)  And it is dark by 5pm and we are getting ANOTHER storm so half the drive home felt like snow was flying right at me (this is a totally weird phenomenon I tried to get a picture of google images of it...it kind of looks like meter sticks of snow flying parallel to the ground straight at you so at the same time it is kind of like a tunnel.  The thing I liken it most to is on star wars/star trek when they go very very fast in space and the white lights go from looking light dots to bars...THAT is what driving in it is like and it sucks!)  But clearly I made it home okay :)  And again I managed to cry only once on the drive home...ugh like I said before I am so sick of me its a wonder the girls aren't sick of me...but Val is just supportive and a great friend of course so that helps.  I really want to stop crying daily...it is annoying.  I guess it will help when I sit down and get it all out.  And again the love and support from my amazing girlfriends carries me through.  But I know I need to work on it.

The Company I Keep

Another sleepless night and another morning waking up with that shotgun wound to the stomach.
Well it's not literally a real shotgun wound but it sure does feel like it (well if I was to guess what feeling shot is like).
The thing that really keeps me going are my friends...the girls if you will...so I will expand a little on them.
A lot of this comes in response to my post yesterday of the update most recently of PH.

There is...

Taylor~ usually  not a day goes by that I don't talk to her in someway.  She is a true southern bell and one of the people that I can travel with easily.  (Sometimes travelling can be difficult especially to third world countries haha).  We joke around that we have "ruined cities"...some of my favourite memories with her include trips to Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Singapore, Thailand, and in just about 5 weeks Toronto.  I look up to her like a big sister and aspire to be more like her.  She looks how I wished I looked when I was a little girl (more about the Doll story later).  Blond, gorgeous, teeny tiny waist, great rack, small Barbie feet...you get the picture.  She has so many uplifting quotes/points/emails that I couldn't do it justice but need to start including some in my blog.

Melody~ my fun seriously spunky girlfriend that is a pillar of strength.  She has been such a fun person to hang out with.  I am consistantly amazed by her talents (she could totally be a professional makeup artist)!
Since I'm a movie lover I would liken her to Alice Cullen (from Twilight...I know hold your groan) but intuitive, smart, great dark short hair, teenytiny and just beautiful.  She sent me a seriously great email about this crazy time in my life, here is a part of it...

But, save yourself the boatload of money I have spent on therapy to know that it REALLY ISN’T YOU.  It’s his stupid self, making a decision that he chose and inflicting pain on you that he will have to live with.  Karma really is a beeatch!  It will come back to him.
I would inflict physical harm upon that boy (if you could even call him that…it requires balls and he apparently doesn’t have any) if I saw him!  You deserve so much more and you have good, honest love to give and he just doesn’t deserve it from someone as good as you.  Somewhere in the future, you will look at this situation and realize why you had to endure such a horrible lesson to learn something so important about yourself and that lesson will in turn give you something even better and something worth every tear.  You just have to hang in there and wait for it.  You can do it.  I know how strong you are.
You have SUCH an awesome friend in Taylor.  If you ever need to talk or to cry or to scream at…I’m here for you!  Big hugs and lots of thoughts are heading your way.  I miss you.

Eva~ you have seen and heard of before.  If you remember she is dirty blond (haha NOT like that), got the best Bootie in the world, great back and shoulders and is a yoga master!  She is wonderful here is part of her email to me yesterday (with respect to PH)...

What a SHIT HEAD!!!!
You're better off without this dipshit...  Really...look at it that way....he's saving you from forever putting up with his stupid shit.  He's an immature, inconsiderate, selfish bastard who doesn't deserve you.  Ugh...he makes me soooooo mad!!!!!!!!!  Get your shit back from him....put him behind you, and get in on with the life you deserve.    Aaaaahhhh...I just want to scream at him!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well we've got lots of fun friend time planned for the next month, so lets look forward to that...focus on that and make some great new memories with our favourite old people :)
Love you!!!

Brooke's Birthday is this weekend.  She is great and wonderful and definitely someone you don't want to mess with.  This girl is one of those girls who can transform like a chamelion...she can be blond, redhead, dark and looks amazing...pair that with awesome eyes and smile and I sure don't have a shortage of beautiful friends.   She is brilliantly sarcastic and a doll to hang out with.  Here is her part of her email to me yesterday...

Well, it seems he is not being very co-operative in this whole thing.  You need to look out for yourself, and not worry about accomodating him anymore.  You need to get all your things from him ASAP, one way or another, and since he doesn't seem to want to give you any information about the lawyer, maybe you need to get yourself to a lawyer as soon as you can, and start working things out on your end.  Maybe go see what your rights are in all this, what you are entitled to, and if you can get anything from him to cover the costs you have incured already towards the wedding.  I'm really sorry this has turned out like this for you.
I do have to say that I was quite surprised to find out that you guys had actually already "tied the Knot",(
I know I know I have some explaining to do!) and I'm really sorry you had to keep that bottled up for so long.  That must have been really difficult for you.  I hope you know that you can tell any of us anything.  We are your best friends, and it is part of our "job description"  as a best friend to not judge, and be supportive of each other, no matter what.  You can call me at any time to chat about any thing you need to talk about.

Jane is like the mama bear in our group and the glue.  She makes sure everything is okay with everyone and she really seriously taught me how to hug properly (along with Eva) and how to climb a tree (on my 20th birthday...I'm obviously a city girl).  Best rack of the group haha...Sophie (who is tiny) has taken to wearing her bra as a hat on occasion!  Dark thick amazing hair...we joke that if you put Jane and Eva together they would have the perfect hour glass body.  Here is part of her email....

So sorry for the delayed response. I was in complete shock the other day when I read the email and I couldn't even think clearly to respond so I was going to do it when I got home and our internet has been down and I was away at a volleyball tournement yesturday.
How are you doing? I know I am still in shock so I can just imagine how you are feeling. I know you must be so confused and looking for answers, but this just might be one of those times in your life that you just need to trust there is a greater plan at work in your life and that through all the pain something good will come out of it. I know I'm struggling with that idea myself, but I know it's true. You deserve so much more and non of this makes sense. I'm sure PH will regret his decision, but to have put your through this is shows without a doubt he doesn't deserve you. The process will be a long and hard road Teagan, but just know I will be there for you whenever you need me.
I love you and give me a call whenever.

There is also Quinn...who is brilliant in every way possible.  Quinn is one of those girls that just gets more and more beautiful as she ages...I know that seems weird but it is so true.  I've been sneaking to her house some nights just to spend the night with a supportive friend.

There is Val she has been a great huge support to me.  Val is a track star...EVERY single one of my boy friends has had a crush on her at one point...one of my friends is like oh the one with the gray eyes (she really has unique eyes).  She is the one that I think everyone pines to be with and she is hilarious, sweet and so lovely...I am excited to see who she ends up with.  She has prayed for me, had me stay with her so many times just to ease the pain that I'm feeling, and has the best heart ever.

Sophie, is my amazing friend who lives in (I think) the coldest place in Canada.  I'm going to visit her in her city in February (I know what am I thinking- I hate the cold!) but I will already be that far West for another reason.  She is probably the most unique and artistic of all of us.  She makes the BEST Christmas crafts so I hope she never gets tired of making them...I ALWAYS look forward to those.

There they are but not nearly enough justice explaining all of them.  I will do my best as I go along.  These are my pillars of strength, my rocks!  And I love them more than anything.
xoxo
