More Royal Wedding Insider Knowledge...

All this information is from this site (here)...I just simplified it and added photos because I love pictures...

Here are some of the things that signified Prince William's late mother Diana...

The Engagment Ring.  Prince William is quoted as saying, "It's my mother's engagement ring,” he told the press of the sapphire and diamond engagement heirloom. “Obviously she's not going to be around to share any of the fun and excitement of it all -- this was my way of keeping her close to it all."

They recited their vows at the Westminster Abbey, the historic church where Diana’s memorial was held for 3 million mourners in 1997, and where she was married to Prince Charles.

Bishop of London Richard Chartres, who also spoke at Diana's memorial, gave the wedding sermon.

During the musical portion of the ceremony, the first hymn sung was "Guide Me Thou, O Great Redeemer," the same song that concluded Di's funeral service and memorial service, 10 years after her death.

The Bridal bouquet of Sweet William dotted with Lily of the Valley, a staple of Diana's wedding bouquet.

The Wedding vows, Kate again summoned Di’s independent spirit, by omitting the term “obey”. It was the one battle Diana Spencer picked when she agreed to marry Prince Charles. At the time, the break in tradition caused outrage among royal-watchers.

Diana’s favorite fashion photographer, Mario Testino, snapped their engagement photo.

Carole, Kate's mother, stood in solidarity with her fellow mother-in-law. Her sky blue shantung dress was designed for the occasion by the house of Catherine Walker, Di's favorite designer. Walker, who died last year, designed at least 1,000 looks that defined Diana's style in her lifetime, including the black dress she was buried in.

For her wedding in 1981 Diana had little say in the guest list. But after her divorce, the people’s princess kept herself surrounded with a close-knit circle, some of them in attendance today, including dear friends Tessa Green and Elton John, who refashioned his song Candle in the Wind in her memory.

John, along with over 1,000 other official guests, were asked by the couple to make charitable donations in lieu of gifts. Of all the bricks that built Diana’s legacy, her humanitarian work was a cornerstone.

As William bit his lip nervously, standing at the altar with his bride, just as his mother did on her wedding day. It was a reminder to the millions of viewers who've watched the prince become a man, he's still his mother's son.

How sweet and special and respectful and just plain lovely...

What could be better than one wedding dress??? duh...two!

Just when I thought the wedding fashion couldn't get any better...
here came the second dress

Here's what I love about it.  It is elegant and beautiful and the detail is the cut and fabric.  I am in LOVE with this dress.  My favourite wedding dresses that I tried on were the ones that were JUST like this.  Maybe one day I will write about my wedding dress...

And how much do I love the angora cardigan...what a PERFECT preppy accessory for a dress.  I'm going to have to remember that.

And the boys look pretty handsom in their tuxes too!

I am loving the style of the Royal Wedding.

The Royal Departure

Seriously...how adorable and perfect is this?!
This is their most recent departure from Buckingham Palace.
Driving themselves in a cute little convertible.

Want to know an "insider tip".
Courtesy of my family (who all grew up in South Africa and therefore very British)
The "L" in front of the car is what someone with a Learner's permit MUST display on their car.
Who knows if this is simply a joke from Prince Harry or what but that is the FIRST thing my family noticed.

I can't find a picture that I can download but the back license plate says: JU5T WED
How freaking cute is that???  You can see that pic here.

Best wishes to the happy beautiful couple!
Don't you just love love?

Fairy Tale Weddings and Happy Endings

I admit it I got totally sucked in.
And you know what it didn't really bother me that much.
(In terms of my own failed wedding).

It was fun and silly and I felt happy...snuggled in bed watching things unfold.
It wasn't the usual social party I would typically have for this kind of event.
But I enjoyed it.

Boy did I enjoy David Beckham holy hotness!
Do I ever L-O-V-E the morning suit.
Seriously way way WAYYYY sexier than a tux.

And Victoria Beckham I mean really...how fantastic does she look pregnant?!

The ever joyful Elton John (who's husband is Canadian!)

How fun was it that the Queen wore yellow...it definitely evoked happiness to me
and made it easy to spot her.

Prince Charles and Camilla...she was rocking a pretty great hat too!

Way to go socialite Tara...you look phenomenol!

Celebrities (Victoria), Socialites (2nd and 3rd from left) and Princesses (the two on the right) and HATS!  I LOVE HATS!!  Seriously how fabulous are these?!

Kate's mum arriving (great hat) and her brother who is looking pretty hot!

How cute are her and her dad?

Her and her sister Pippa.  I was a little surprized at the light ivory/creamy hue of her sisters dress.  However I thought they both looked GORGEOUS!

I thought her dress was PERFECT for the occasion.  Formal and beautiful and classic.  I loved her earrings.  I'm secretly dying to see what shoes she wore.  I thought the veil was airey and light and so pretty.  I appreciated the tiara being elegant just like her.  Rumor had it she had padded the hips to make her tiny waist seem even tinier!  Her bouquet was small (compared to others) but I loved that because it didn't overwhelm her small frame.

Some say her inspiration was Grace Kelly which is one of my favourite "Royal" Dresses of all time (even though personally I'm not a lace fan I thought it was GORGEOUS!)

How cute are the flower girls and pages?  Box pleats...seriously I die!  I love box pleats...these kiddos are just about the cutest things ever.

Look at those handsome boys waiting.  Harry certainly is a heartbreaker!  So good looking.

Like I said before...she is just STUNNING!  What a beautiful woman.  Definitely a style icon...and someone who basically I know if she wears it I will like it (in general!).  I just found out this morning (reading a random article) that Burberry jacket I posted (here) about sold out within 24 hours!

Probably the best part of the whole thing is how happy they look together.

The famous balcony kiss.  My favourite part was how she blushed immediately after.  To me it was the most real and genuine moment of the whole thing.

And I will secretly admit I also watched Will and Kate the Lifetime movie last night when it re-aired (I missed the first airing in Canada because I was too busy making out with the chef at Eva's Bachelorette Party!).
I loved it.
What a great guilty pleasure.
Seriously here is the trailer...it had everything I love about Lifetime movies...drama and love and finally a happy ending.

Overall what a great ESCAPE from reality.
I loved it.

A Royal Invitation

So the usual bubbly happy positive Teagan would be all about the Royal Wedding.
I probably would have taken the day off work (from my temp job not my career job-that is a shoutout to you SoMidwestern!) and had a tea-party complete with hats and gloves and dresses.

I would have probably scoured all the details I could find.
I love the Royals...love the idea of everything behind it.
Probably with a slightly childish dream of being a princess.

Then my world went dark.
I will soon tell the whole story of my fairybook wedding I was planning.
To the man I was already married too.
Confused?  Well you should be but it will all come out in MyExboyfriendProject.

I was obsessed.
Well likely because I had nothing to do at all.
Just hours of boredom.
So I planned every single detail of every single thing for the September 2011 wedding.

I dragged my parents to wedding shows (Spencer couldn't come because he had his career in Florida and I was stuck in Canada awaiting my spousal/fiancee visa).
It was a mix of do-it-yourself and some over the top aspects.

My dad and I soon started the tradition over June through September of watching Say Yes to the Dress and Four Weddings on TLC every Friday night.
And then everything came crashing down.

I had to cancel all the vendors.
I remember when we booked everything thinking...gee that is terrible that they have to include cancellation policies...never thinking I would be the one to use it.

I had to make the decision to keep the wedding dress or not? (it was 75% paid for).
When I went to the Wedding Shows I had labels made up of our information so that I didn't have to fill out ballots.
I wanted to win us free honeymoons, and photography etc.

Instead all I got was put on a zillion wedding email spam lists.
So now I get DAILY emails of all the things I'm NOT planning for.
I keep trying to delete and insert filters but still get emails that sneak through daily.

So when the Royal Wedding was announced I avoided everything about it like the plague.
But the last few days it has been everywhere.
And I have to admit I love Kate Middleton's style.

I think she is beautiful and smart and elegant.
So now I'm slowly getting pulled in though it makes my heart ache for what I don't have.
So for now I will safely just admire her fashion.
And maybe just maybe I will watch the Royal Wedding...though I'm still undecided....but maybe.

Here are some of my FAVOURITE of her outfits...enough to make me crave an Issa dress of my own.

The Blue Issa Engagment dress is a DREAM!  Beautifully wrapped I am in love!

The Ivory Engagment Pic Dress is also Gorgeous...

It doesn't hurt to have a FABulous body.  I love white bikinis.

What a coincidence...a Burberry Trench (still saving for mine).

Yesterday she was out shopping in this black dress.  Classic and beautiful.

Of course...my obsession that all started with Taylor in the South...HATS!!!

And my new favourite...Fascinators...I wore one to my own pseudo-wedding.  I'm secretly hoping Kate wears one to her's.  I wore one to Jane's wedding in October and am contemplating wearing one to Eva's wedding next month.  I think they are so formal and fun.

(above is actually her sister I think).

So that is my fashion round up of Kate Middleton... my newest style love.
