Framed

So I'm finally getting new glasses.
But of course I can't figure out which ones to get.
I only have terrible pictures of me (post yoga class).

So you'll get to see the frames only.
Originally I had my heart set on these pretty ones.
CHANEL 3242 in color 714
Picture from here and yes the detail on the arms are bows (so obviously I'm crazy about them).
But when I was in the opticians office she recommended these new ones that just came in.
She said they were more current and different.

And I just can't decide.
I only get glasses once every few years.
PRADA VPR05P in color 2AU1O1
Pic from here
So should I go with the original ones that I liked or do I lean towards the more trendy ones?
I can tell you thus far that the ones my friends are leaning towards is the Chanel ones.
But as usually I can't decide!

Sequins and Fur

This weekend was fun and fabulous.
I already let you know I hit up my second yoga class off Passport to Prana Saturday morning.
Then I helped her go to the fabric store to help pick out blouse fabric for the Indian Wedding Sarees for her mother.

Then I headed home to shower before going downtown to meet S and E for H's birthday.
All girls from the CanadaCrew.

So S and E are currently living on a ship that's docked in Toronto
(seriously that's a whole other story).
So that how I ended up having drinks beforehand on a ship.
Seriously they live on this ship...so we had drinks there before heading out.  Pick form here
Then we headed to Ossington street in Toronto and ended up at The Painted Lady.
And it was jam packed.
And we drank and danced and had a fun girly night out.
And I totally wore the LaRok sequined mini dress (from this post) and my fur coat (you can see a pic in this post) and generally created a scene Saturday night because of my outfit lol.

The next day I was at Laurel's place to help narrow down cake choices for the wedding.
Then they hosted a small Super Bowl party.
We had chicken wings and beer and it was a really nice relaxing and unwinding weekend.
I loved every bit of it.
Did you get up to anything fun?

Party Dress

So one of my girl friends from the CanadaCrew recommended a website called ModCloth.
Have you heard of it?
They had this massive 70% sale so I thought it would be a good time to check it out.

And y'all!!!!!!!

I'm such a dress girl...I would wear dresses every single day if I could.
So you could imagine I was having a field day!

I had to narrow it down (so hard).
And these were the final pics.
Also shipping was $14.95 (SO good for US to Canada) and no duty or taxes (score!!!)

The Painted Lady Dress
$28.99
The Goldleaf Glamour Dress
$27.99
The Perfect in Petals Dress
$26.99
The Sea and Santorini Dress
$47.99
I loved this dress because of the back!
Clearly I love bows and polka dots.
And my fav...The Traveling Cupcake Truck Dress
$59.99
So 5 dresses for under $200!
Ummm yes please.
It's going to be a summer full of dresses.
Now only if this weather will cooperate!

All pics from modcloth website.

Safe Haven

My escape here in Florida has been two fold...
One of these has been heading to the gym.
The walk there to just simmer down.

The actual gym which more often than not is empty.

My other safe haven is my room.
Which I made bright and sunny for Florida.
I wanted my room to feel like a happy vacation spot.
What's more happy than pink and green?

I picked the smaller between the two bedrooms (not including the master of course).
I like how it makes it cozy :)

I love the thick crown molding!

I love my clear lamp...and the random shiny pink parrot that I found.
I need to fill that green vase with some white hydrangeas I think!

I enjoy small details like how I can find a curtain rod that echos the lamp without it being from the same store.

It's definitely my escape.
Maybe I'll do a whole house tour for y'all.
It's just a small vacation home but I really like it.

Simple Things

Probably just me.
But I get excited when I notice certain things.
Like in this weeks New Girl episode "Santa"

When throughout the whole episode Zooey Deschanel's character wore this...

Look familiar...
Pic from here.
How about now???

Ahhh the simple things of life.
When one of your favourite TV characters is wearing your favourite new winter coat.
I scored this lovely Kate Spade bow coat back in Dallas in September (read here if you missed it).

And now I will finish off with a quote from one of my favourite characters during this episode...

Schmidt: "Love is stupid. It is a lie. So bah humbug to you, Cecelia! Bah humbug! Baaaaaaaahhhhh!"

It's Christmas time in the city...

Had to leave work today because I was so darn sick!
But it let me snap some pictures tonight of some of my Christmas decorations up.
The tree is up!

Fleur de Lis light!

Something less Christmas-ey...I'm loving the white feathers with the clear and glittery reindeer!

Some Christmas decor...and if you look carefully you can see I've moved some things around.
I totally owe y'all an updated apartment tour.
But thought I would share the holiday decor.

This year we will be spending it at our Florida house (for the first time).
And I'm totally dreading the 10 days that I decided to stay for (not sure what I was thinking...4 days appears to be the max from prior experience).
So hopefully that will mean a lot of working out and a lot of blogging.
Dare I say perhaps get the ex-boyfriend project rolling just a little bit more?!?!
That may be high hopes though lol.

Fashion Week in the TDotO

Y'all I'm slowly starting to get back into the blog groove...
Two nights this week I spent at Toronto's very own fashion week.
So here it is via my terrible iPhone pics.

So excited to walk up to the tent in David Pecault Square.
Even on a rainy night.

Val and I in front of the step&repeat...at least I think that's what it is called.

Inside of the tent was really quite cool.
Probably the best part was the people watching and the amazing fashion.
I was so overwhelmed I barely got any pictures!

DJ and cool light fixtures at the entrance to the runway.

Media lounge sponsored by Canada's newest American addition...TARGET!
So excited when we spotted this.

When Val and I got to our chairs this was waiting which made it fun and exciting.
The show we were attending was Mercedes-Benz StartUp which is a contest for Canadian young designers...very much seemed exactly like Project Runway.
8 young designers...one winner that would get to show next year and get mentors.
So exactly like Project Runway minus the cashola!

I really couldn't get great pictures because of the bright lights...

at the end of the runway...(look at all the photogs!)

Wednesday night my mum and grandma came into town to share in the fun.
Notice the new coat!

Laurel came too so that was a great buffer.

We went to the Joe Fresh show.
It was amazing.  Though a TON more chaotic than the night before.
My mum made it clear while she enjoyed it she wouldn't be repeating.
Oh well I tried anyway.

So it was ALMOST a bucket list item crossed off.
Because I am way more specific...on that bucket list?
Fall Fashion Week in NYC and Spring Fashion Week in Paris.
A girl can dream can't she?

Dallas Trip ~ Saturday (Day Three)

So Saturday morning we woke up and got ready to be spoiled.
Seriously Taylor is the BEST.
I cannot even begin to describe the day we had.
She spoiled me the ENTIRE trip.

First we headed to the Four Seasons for Manicures and Pedicures.
And y'all remember me complaining about what a crappy experience I JUST had getting mani/pedis.
Well this was 100% the COMPLETE opposite and most incredible blissful experience ever.

The estheticians were personable, professional and just a lot of fun.
Taylor thinks of everything.
And before I knew it I had a strawberry smoothie AND a glass of champagne by my side.

Did y'all know the Four Seasons is actually a Canadian company:

From that most perfect spa day we headed to lunch at Cafe on the Green.
It was just the perfect environment and atmosphere.
I was so completely blissed out with happiness.
A girl could get used to this!

We both ordered the same thing for lunch.
And it was perfect.
We wanted something light yet filling and this fit the bill perfectly!

We headed home afterwards and chatted on the couch for awhile.
And then the doorbell rang...and it was PinkSundrops from Austin!!!

And I had to pretend to be all surprised.
(I totally knew she was coming because we had been scheming ourselves for tomorrows big reveal).

One of my FAVOURITE things when I'm hanging out with Taylor is the simple act of getting ready.
Seriously it is my FAV.
Gossiping, drinking, applying makeup and doing hair.
And y'all Taylor's bathroom is the BEST place to get ready.
So much better than my pseudo pillows on the floor in front of the hall mirror.
It seriously rivals my fav bathrooms found at the Wynn in Vegas.

It was fun giggling and having some quality girl time.
AND PinkSundrops and I whispering every chance we had about tomorrow's plans! All three of us then headed to meet Melody for dinner at Carraba's.
A fav of ours from my graduate school days.
The yummo bread and olive oil/9 spice blend.

And we ordered what we usually did.
The Pollo Rosa Maria with a side of pasts.
This dish is so big (two full chicken breasts) that Taylor and I were able to order one meal and just an extra salad and we were stuffed!

The rich delicious food was amazing.
And it was just the best night ever being with my close girlfriends and all having a chat.
It was seriously just so SO much fun!

After dinner we tried to sneak out afterwards but we were worried of raising Taylor's suspicions.
So we all "went to bed" and PinkSundrops and I plotted on how to pull off the next day...
